# Find Skills (Pinned Snapshot)

## Purpose
Use this skill to discover project-relevant skills on `skills.sh` and avoid bloating global skill configuration with unrelated entries.

## When To Use
- You start work in a new project and need domain-specific workflows.
- Existing global skills are not enough for the current task.
- You want to install a small targeted set of skills intentionally.

## Preconditions
- `npx` is available in your shell.
- You can access the skills catalog:
  - `https://skills.sh/vercel-labs/skills/find-skills`
- Optional: OpenCode global skills sync has been run:
  - `sync-opencode-config --sync-skills`

## Command Policy (Local-First)
- Local-first recommendation order for install commands:
  1. Project-local single-agent (default):
     - `npx skills add <owner/repo@skill> --agent codex`
  2. Project-local multi-frontend:
     - `npx skills add <owner/repo@skill> --agent codex opencode openhands`
  3. Optional global install (only when explicitly requested):
     - `npx skills add <owner/repo@skill> --agent codex -g`
- Do not recommend `-g` as the default path.
- Warning: omitting `--agent` can install to many agents/frontends unintentionally.
- For Codex and OpenCode in this repo, prefer project-local installs under `./.agents/skills/` so they stay clearly separate from the baseline content managed by `aistackd sync`.
- If you adopt an external skill into project-local workflow long-term, you may record provenance in `aistackd-skill-provenance.json` beside the installed `SKILL.md`.

## Workflow
1. Inspect the published skill page:
   - `xdg-open https://skills.sh/vercel-labs/skills/find-skills`
2. Install the skill for project-local Codex usage:
   - `npx skills add vercel-labs/skills/find-skills --agent codex`
3. Verify project-local installation:
   - `ls ./.agents/skills/find-skills`
4. Optional: install for multiple frontends in one command:
   - `npx skills add vercel-labs/skills/find-skills --agent codex opencode openhands`
5. Verify multi-frontend project-local paths as needed:
   - `ls ./.agents/skills/find-skills`
   - `ls ./.openhands/skills/find-skills`
6. Optional: record provenance for an adopted external skill beside the installed `SKILL.md`:
   - create `aistackd-skill-provenance.json` with upstream source and snapshot date
7. Optional global install (only when explicitly requested):
   - `npx skills add vercel-labs/skills/find-skills --agent codex -g`
8. Verify global installation only for `-g` installs:
   - `ls ~/.codex/skills/find-skills`
9. Use the installed skill to discover and shortlist project-relevant skills.

## Failure Triage
- `npx: command not found`:
  - install Node.js/npm first, then retry.
- Install fails due to network:
  - retry on a stable network and verify skills.sh is reachable.
- Skill installed but not recognized:
  - restart the agent host process and re-check the install target path:
    - project-local: `./.agents/skills/find-skills` (or `./.openhands/skills/find-skills` for OpenHands)
    - global (`-g` only): `~/.codex/skills/find-skills`

## Boundaries
- Do not auto-install large bundles of skills globally.
- Prefer project-relevant skills only.
- Keep ai-stack sync behavior explicit (`sync-opencode-config --sync-skills`), not implicit.
