- [ ] All colors distinguishable in grayscale (for B/W printing)
- [ ] No red-green combinations as sole encoding (affects ~8% of males)
- [ ] Font size ≥ 6 pt in final printed figure
- [ ] Sufficient contrast ratio (WCAG AA: ≥4.5:1 for text)
- [ ] Data are shown (not just summaries) wherever possible
- [ ] Error bars labelled in caption (SD, SEM, 95% CI)
