# Integrations (integ-api)

Access Google Workspace services (Calendar, Gmail) and Slack via the `pa integapi` CLI.
Do not start integ-api HTTP server or configure it yourself — it's managed by the daemon/user.

## Commands

### Discovery & Health

### Gmail

The `gmail unreads` command categorizes unread INBOX emails by priority:
1. **action_required** — real person, user in TO, contains question or request
2. **invoices** — invoices, receipts (by sender and subject patterns, Czech+English)
3. **fyi** — user in CC, or internal mail without direct question
4. **newsletters** — newsletter@, digest@, Substack, etc. (count only)
5. **automated** — GitHub, Google Calendar, CI/CD, system notifications (count only)

Multiple Gmail accounts are supported — configure `userEmails` in `settings.json` under
`integApi.services.gmail.userEmails` to list all your email addresses for accurate TO/CC detection.
Messages are never marked as read.

### Slack

Multiple Slack workspaces can be configured (company, client, personal). The unreads
command aggregates across all of them. Messages are never marked as read.

## Output

All commands return JSON to stdout. Prefer `--format compact-json` for easy parsing.
If you need ad-hoc parsing and `jq` is not available, use Python:

## Default Assistant Style (Calendar)

- Default to a concise "agenda" view: **time + title + location/meet link**.
- Omit **attendees** and long **description** fields unless the user explicitly asks.
- Fetch full details only on demand via `pa integapi calendar event <eventId>`.

## Error Handling

- If the server is not running, commands will fail with a connection error.
  The daemon auto-restarts the server on crash — wait a few seconds and retry.
- Authentication errors (expired tokens) are handled automatically via token
  refresh. If refresh fails, tell the user authentication is needed (do not attempt authenticate yourself)

## When to Use

- **Heartbeat checks:** Use `pa integapi calendar today` to see upcoming events.
- **User asks about schedule:** Use calendar commands to answer.
- **User asks about email:** Use `gmail unreads` for a prioritized overview, then `gmail read <id>` for detail.
- **User asks about Slack messages:** Use `slack unreads` for overview, then `slack messages <id>` for details.
- **Proactive awareness:** During heartbeat, check calendar, gmail unreads, and Slack unreads for context.
- **Pending messages feed:** Use `slack unreads` and `gmail unreads` to provide aggregated overviews
  of pending activity, highlighting what needs attention.
