# Codex-Teammate: Peer-to-Peer Codex CLI ⇄ Claude Code Collaboration

Enables Codex CLI and Claude Code to work as peer teammates through a shared task board.

## Task Board Location

The shared task board is at:
- `~/.claude/skills/teammate/workspace/task-board.md`

Set `TEAMMATE_SCRIPTS_DIR` to `~/.claude/skills/teammate/scripts` to access shared Python modules.

## Core Behaviors

### 1. Read Board Before Acting
Before any teammate-related action, read the task board.
Check Next Actor — if it's Claude, do not intervene unless explicitly asked.

### 1b. Consult History On-Demand
Task board contains full collaboration history (up to 50 entries). Use `query_board.py` to selectively read entries instead of parsing the file directly:

Check history when: starting a task, encountering ambiguity, or needing prior decisions.

### 2. Update Board Before Handoff
After completing work, always:
- Append to Comm Log via `append_comm_log()`
- Update task status via `update_task()`
- Set Next Actor via `set_next_actor()`

### 3. Structured Handoff
Every handoff must include Completed, Pending, Decisions, Files Affected, and Notes.

### 4. Consult Claude When Needed
Use `~/.claude/skills/teammate/scripts/consult_claude.py` when:
- A design decision is ambiguous
- You need input on architecture or approach
- You want Claude to review completed work

### 5. Conflict Avoidance
When Next Actor is Claude, do not make changes unless Claude explicitly requests input.

## Scripts
- `~/.claude/skills/teammate/scripts/consult_claude.py` — Send a consultation to Claude
- Set `TEAMMATE_SCRIPTS_DIR=~/.claude/skills/teammate/scripts` so the teammate script can import shared modules
