# Git Conventions

Help the user follow consistent git practices.

## When to use

Use this skill when the user is:

- Writing commit messages
- Creating branches
- Preparing pull requests

## Instructions

### Commit Messages

Follow the Conventional Commits format:

- `feat:` for new features
- `fix:` for bug fixes
- `docs:` for documentation changes
- `refactor:` for code restructuring
- `test:` for adding or updating tests
- `chore:` for maintenance tasks

### Branch Naming

Use kebab-case with a type prefix:

- `feat/add-user-auth`
- `fix/login-redirect`
- `docs/api-reference`
